Directions
In a kettle combine soup base with 5 cups of hot water. Blend well with whisk. Add onions. Stir. Simmer ( with lid on) for 45 minutes on low (do not boil); stirring occasionally.
Special Touches
- Our soups are terrific just as they are. However, if you would like to add your own “special touch”, consider stirring in one of the following:
- stir in dashes of thyme and/or basil
- add slivered green peppers
- pour prepared soup into oven proof ceramic soup pots on a cookie sheet. Drop a slice of French bread into each serving. When bread surfaces, sprinkle with grated Swiss cheese. Bake for about 20 minutes, then set briefly under the broiler to top brown.

- sprinkle in a few croutons, top with grated cheese of your choice, and warm in microwave.
